On Sun 24th of november,we lost avery good friend and one of the founder members of the colin mens group. Sam Moore, as he was affectionately known, passed away after a very long battle with illness, he was a character, a man who had fought personal battles with illness most of his life, every day was a battle for sam, because like me, alcohol played a large part in his life..he fought it with great courage and for the last six years of his time on earth he beat this god awful disease only to be stricken with another..our sam was an inspiration to me in my own personal battle with alcohol..for the rest of my life, every day without it will be dedicated to sam. As a group, his loss isimmense to us. We had many great days out together and shared some very happy memories. Who can forget memories, the fishing trips and our day out at the American folk park on the 4th of July this year. I'm sure some of our shipmates that day will never forget the impression sam left on them. Sam, you're my friend, our friend and you were a rare human being. You loved us like we were your family and you can be assured that your love can be recipricated ten fold. Your pain has gone old friend but we have plunged into mourning for a special friend who can never be replaced. We love you, we miss you and we never will forget you old friend.
