28 August at 21:33 Hello again folks..A little update...Things are moving along at a steady pace..I have a little announcement to make..This Monday,the 1st of September our old friend and founder member The late Sam Moore,would have celebrated his 67th birthday..We ,as members of the Colin Men's Group will never forget what Sam meant to us..Those of us in the group,who were lucky enough to share this little space on earth with Sam,,miss his presence,his humour and well,,we just miss Sam for being Sam..Because of his commitment to our group,we have flourished and grown..We will never forget him,and when new members come along to our group,Sams name is always mentioned as a founder member of the group..As time passes by,sometimes people forget about past members and friends,,it is in us all..I am sure there are people in other organisations that Sam was part of,who will not chose to remember Sam as we do..But they are not us..You see,, here we had a man,who had all the attributes to be a founder member of our group..The University of life would have been a dull place without our Sam..It is not my place to go over Sams experiences of life,but I can assure you,there were stories a plenty..Many he recited to me,,,in another place..!! The tiffs between him and big Tom McCarthy were legendary..But I have rarely seen a love and respect that those two men had for each other..Sam was our man,,his seat at the top of the table always reserved for him..It was like the last supper around that table every Thursday..When we seen him coming everyone would lift their cups because,,guaranteed,Sam would bump into that table with his chair..Yes,funny moments,,but memories that we will always treasure..That's what made Sam the person he was..Always wanting to speak..Always full of great ideas,where he wanted us to go as a group..Always loving and caring for each and every one of us..And that love was returned..On Monday old friend,,, you will celebrate your first birthday away from us..We as a group will make our way,to your place of rest,to wish you a happy 67th birthday..A sad but also a happy occasion to be back with you again..I would like all our members going to pay our respects to Sam to please wear your Colin Men's Group T Shirts..Let him be proud of us in death,as he was in life..It just remains for me,to say,,Sam,,,,,Happy Birthday old friend,,We all love and miss you so very,very,much...LEGEND!!!
